Buying a used CNC machine: what matters
Updated on October 29, 2026
With used machine tools, the control, spindle and accuracy determine the value. Clarify these points before you bid.
Control and software
Clarify the make and version of the control, available options and whether spare parts and service are still available. Does the control fit your programs and your staff's experience?
Check the mechanics
- Spindle: running time, noise, concentricity
- Guideways and ball screws: play and wear
- Accuracy: results of a test part or measurement reports
- Tool changer, turret or magazine
- Coolant system, chip conveyor, guarding
Documents and accessories
Ask for the operating manual, wiring diagrams, service records and CE documents. Tool holders, clamping devices and software licences are often not automatically included.
Transport and installation
Plan dismantling, transport, foundation and connected load early. On Machinooo, sellers of industrial machinery can state the connected load in the listing – if it is missing, ask.
Bidding on Machinooo
Verified companies place sealed bids. Send questions about the control or accessories to the Machinooo team before you bid.
