Selling used machinery: dealer, auction or platform?
Updated on October 29, 2026
There are several ways to sell a used machine. Which one fits depends on how quickly you want to sell and how much effort you want to take on yourself.
Directly to a dealer
A dealer often buys quickly and simply. In return, you only know their offer and not what other buyers would pay.
Auction
At an auction, many bidders compete. This can lead to good results, but the hammer price is usually binding – even if it is lower than hoped, unless a reserve price was agreed.
Listing with a public price
Your own listing with a price reaches many interested parties. In return, you handle negotiations, viewings and questions yourself, and your price is visible to everyone.
Sealed bids on Machinooo
On Machinooo, you list for free without a public price. Verified companies bid sealed, you see all bids and decide freely whether and which one to accept. Your company name stays hidden; after acceptance, the Machinooo team coordinates the sale.
