Selling used trucks and commercial vehicles
Updated on October 29, 2026
With commercial vehicles, buyers pay particular attention to mileage, service and valid inspections. Here is how to prepare the sale.
Details in the listing
- Manufacturer, model, first registration or year, mileage
- Body (flatbed, box, tipper, tractor unit …) and axles
- Engine power, transmission, emission standard
- Gross vehicle weight and payload
- Equipment such as tail lift, crane or PTO
Papers and inspections
Have the registration documents, records of the general inspection (HU in Germany) and – for heavy vehicles – the safety inspection (SP), as well as the service book ready. Hand over the vehicle papers only after full payment.
Photos
Show the vehicle all around, the cab, the odometer, type plate, tyres and the body. Showing wear and damage openly avoids later discussions.
